Perfect Parisian Pads for weekending in the city of light
With soaring temperatures and a never-ending supply of events and entertainment, weekends in Paris can almost certainly guarantee the perfect summer.
Highlights from this year’s musical calendar include the Paris Jazz Festival and the Rock en Seine, the biggest annual rock event in Paris. Held in the pretty Parc Floral de Vincennes from 8 June to 28 July, the Paris Jazz Festival is one of the city’s most popular events and holds over 30 concerts across eight weekends.
Paris’s rock festival, Rock-en-Seine, runs from 23 to 25 August this year and brings an eclectic line-up to the City of Light. From the addictive beats of Chance the Rapper to the unmistakable industrial sounds of Nine Inch Nails, it is one of the most exciting summer music festivals in Europe.
For art-lovers, flying in to Paris and heading across to the Museum of Modern Art for the Keith Haring exhibition, which is running until 18 August, will quickly while away an afternoon. But for a unique picture of what is happening in the world’s contemporary art scene, the Bientôt Nouvelles Vagues show at the Palais de Tokyo is hosting an exhibition from maverick curators from all over the world, which lasts until 9 September.
To make the most of a summer weekend in Paris there is nothing like watching a film while picnicking alfresco. Just by the 19th arrondissement in the 55-hectare Parc de Villette, a packed program of movies, including The Social Network by David Fincher and Ocean’s Eleven by Steven Soderbergh, are being shown in their original language (with French subtitles).
But any weekend spent in Paris must have at least some time dedicated to Paris Plages, which transforms the city as riverside roads become beaches instead. A Seine-side “must-do”, it’s just like being by the sea with comfy deckchairs, waterside cocktails and sun-drenched sunbeds.
Flying in and out of Paris for fun-packed, culture-crammed weekends is easy with a “lock-up-and-go” type of apartment in the centre. Here are three city pads in Home Hunts’ portfolio that offer excellent locations, luxurious living and fast access to Paris’s most exciting summer events.

An ideal pied-a-terre, this light and airy one-bedroom 4th floor property (HH-5368111) is well located on the Esplanade des Invalides in the 7th arrondissement.
